is my car faster?

I have a 98 gt 4.6. It had 16" rims with skinny's on the back, I upgraded to 17"s, 245/45/zr17's all four tires. is my car faster now? I know the ride quality is better and it hugs curves better.

Probably slower. I'm sure the 17's weight more. But not alot to notice, but u should have better traction now

A wider tire will give you more traction, but a larger rim will be heavier. I would say with increased traction you'll be able to launch at a higher rpm without spinning, but unless they're drag radials or a performance tire you won't see huge gains.

Re: is my car faster?

if you take traction out of it its probably slow now since rotational weight is 10x that of dead weight and you made your rims a bit heavier.

Reality, you will have better traction so you will be able to take off harder~ this alone might make the car overall faster.
