Re: More power

obviously regular maintenance (oil changes, plugs and such) will not exactly add power, but prevent power loss. adding that with the previously mentioned mods will be beneficial. so far i have a CAI from AM and a SCT SF3 tuner and my car drives better than ever

Re: More power

The reason I didn't try'em out was because I have the Mach460 stereo system. I figured w/two amps and everything else, it would be too stressful for the alternator.

Re: More power

the alternator. you might be able to find one that can handle what you plan to do with it if you're nervous about the one you have now

Was planning on re-visiting when the orig. alternator dies. I was gonna upgrade anyway and it'd be good time. But, we're only talking like 5HP gains, right?

Re: More power

that and if the old alternator can't handle it a new one might prevent problems.

First off, it only affects power while at idle...secondly it only affects it at idle IF you use the UD alt pulley..if u leave the stock alt pulley on you will be fine

And it frees up hp does not add..

not neccesarily. if you leave the stock alternator pulley on but change the crank pulley the alternator will still spin slower because of the smaller crank pulley. it maynot be affected as much but still will. then this also becomes a hassle because when you change the alt pulley you also need a belt. what i have done before is get a smaller than stock alternator pulley(overdrive). and then use the rest of the ud pulleys. its a hassle so now i just use high amp alternator.
