Yeah untill I bought my wife her little brine a few months ago my mustang was the best fuel Econ car we owned...

My whole point on this thread was that gas mileage between 3.73 and 4.10 is different but barely noticeable. You should look at the performance and what you want out of your car more than the fuel. Mostly if you like cruising more and want a little more kick go with 373 or if you plan on FI 373 is a better choice for the most part although some like 410 even with FI. If you just want to have fun in your mustang, def go with 4.10. 3.90 is a happy medium between the two as well that we don't get a lot of talk about on here.

Agreed. My Mach went from 3.55 to 3.73 and I'm still getting same MPG they put on the cars when new. I can't speak for the diff between 3.55 and 3.73, cause the swap was already made when I bought the car. I can vouch for the RPMs diff what you mention is correct cause I'm so close to what a 2003 Mach 1 review said RPMs were at 60MPH, that I can hardly tell its more, like 200.

+1

Like I told Ryan, I'm gonna make a big thread when I get time about the true mechanical differences between 3.73 and 4.10. I would like I do 3.90 and 3.55 as well but I'm not changin my gears that much

What would be a good gear to go with if you race just street racing cause I'm 16 so I don't go to the track?

I wouldn't recommend street racing being that young cause 9/10 times it ends bad. But for racing and city a would do 4.10s

First off we can not recommend anything to you for street racing because we are not allowed to talk about that on the forum. But along with big tickets and hefty fines the cops can and usually will impound your vehicle and you will be lucky if you get it back...just don't risk it...find a track and go there!

I agree a 100%!
I really don't think a 16 year old should start out in a v8 mustang most of the time teens wreck there first car I have seen this happen so many times with spoiled kids I went to school with in brand new cars and 8/10 wreck just my opinion.
My first car was a 800hp race car on a race track I raced for awhile ( only on a track) then I bought a 2007 v6 f-150 it was the perfect little learning truck

Save your money and buy a 10 speed bike if you plan on doing any sort of street racing

What does being 16 have to do with it? Trust me all of us have been in a street race, and more than care to admit will still run on the street, its spontaneous! But its stupid. In Texas you go to jail impound your car loose your dl for up to three years! Its not worth it to prove to the guy in the other lane you're faster, or the life you may take. Find a track, if they don't let 16 year olds race talk to them and say its either here or the street but I've seen 15 year olds on our local tracks!
