Re: power

Honestly a good handheld tuner will give you really great results because it'll help transfer the power faster and more efficiently due to being able to tune your auto's shift points. Next I'd put gears, I am a huge advocate for 4.10s especially for an auto. Autos can even go 4.30. Then I'd go for wider rear tires, preferably drag radials.
Those three mods will be the cheapest way to take probably a full second off your quarter time and really "feel" the power of your engine.

Otherwise you'll spend thousands doing internal work or adding FI to your engine.

Re: power

Every automatic mustang owner should have a tuner. Actually.. Every mustang owner period should have one. They're very useful. Like this:
Bama SF3/X3 Power Flash Tuner w/ 3 Free Custom Tunes (99-04 GT)

That's the one I use.

Re: power

I drive a 5-speed so it didn't really affect mine too much. The performance tunes are not correct for my current mods so I have it running stock tune. But the tuner is very helpful in resetting speedo calibrations, pulling DTC codes, and datalogging. Plus you can permanently override traction control and remove the top speed governer.. Lol.
