Smoked headlights

Beyond have an issue with not being able to see? Mine were on the car when I got it and I used some nice sylvanias and could see ok not great but ok I then bought HiDs off eBay and can't see a damn thing at night any suggestions? Added a couple pics so u can see the housings

Get new head lights or take 500 grit on a 3 in da sander and sand off the clear coat then wet sand with 800 then again with 2000 and either buff them or just clear coat them( return them to stock)
