5 speed swap

Hey everyone!

Im thinking about doing an auto to 5 speed swap in my 02 mustang gt.....did anybody ever do a swap and is it expensive? Is it difficult to install?

I've never done it, but from what I've read on previous threads, the most common answer seems to be to sell your GT and buy one that's already manual. Ive heard that's much cheaper. Hopefully someone else will chime in to help!

I would lose a lot of money if i sold mine....its supercharged and i have over 6000 in recipts of aftermarket parts.

Its only pricey because of labor for the most part.

If u can do it yourself go for it...my buddy is getting ready to do his fox and I think he has 5-600 I'm the entire thing..

Well the main reason i am considering a swap is because i got a supercharger and my automatic transmission is not going to be able to withstand all of that power, so when it does go out i will swap it wrather than rebuild an auto. There is a place that will install it for $1000

Yea, but doing it yourself is free...I'm not a mechanic bit I just ripped half my engine apart on my f150...runs great now!

Yah I'd say sell the car, reinstall blower and everything on new manual car... Th reason I say that is because when you do a manual swap, you have to swap to a manual ecu and everything else, and I know that's expensive... Yah you might be loosing a lil if you just sell the car, but you can still save at least the blower off it for the new manual car you buy...

Not sure if foxes are easier or what but my buddy does them to every stang he buys, mostly foxes, and says they are not that hard. If u do buy a new one, just buy it first swap all your upgrades and put the stocks on yours then sell yours..

Where you from in Ohio???
