Thanks guys!

Ketchikan is so small that everyone walks everywhere or takes ATVs. Vehicles aren't really needed. :/

And I don't know about storing it.

I'll be in Alaska for at least a year then go to The Airman program for 4 months, then a-school for 16 weeks, then advanced training at my new Duty Station... It'll be years before I ever get to to stay in the same place for any amount of time. This kinda sucks.

---------- Post added at 04:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:49 PM ----------

And the big thing is is that I still want to complete the build but I'd have to have someone else install everything and put it back together but I want to be the person to put it back together. D:

Just leave it in storage and when you can stay in one place finish it yourself

I've had mine in storage for about 3 months... If you can afford it get a climate control unit, there more expensive but most the time you don't have to worry about lil critters, set it on stands, try to buy gas without ethanol and dump some stabil in it, and get some of the stabil fogging oil spray and put it in the engine to protect it from rust

You'll have extra money, hire your dad to do work on it.

Congratulations too.

Haha. Thanks guys. I suppose I'll let it roll for now. I might have a couple friends that are willing to finish the build for me while I'm gone. Ya never know.. I might get stationed somewhere I can drive it after this whole Alaska thing!

I have yet to iron out all the details but for sure getting a lot of head work done. A nice cam; gonna work on my fuel system too. Going forged internals for sure. And switching to the aluminum block I have.

Ok! Got the engine to the engine shop this morning. My parents dropped it off for me, obviously. Build list is...
-Machining a Teksid aluminum block and using that instead of my old iron block.
-Full forged rotating assembly(even crank).
-Stage 2 cams and stronger springs to compensate.
-Port polish heads and something else the builder said he wanted to do but can't remember.
-Looking at switching to a typhoon aluminum intake manifold.
-Exedy stage 2 clutch and Spec billet aluminum flywheel, FRPP TO bearing and pilot bearing.

Engine builder said about two weeks he'll be done with it. Got a friend lined up to install it all and get it drivable for me then he's gonna take it to a tuner to get a good tune. Then I'm going to take leave, fly to LA to pick it up and drive it cross country back to Alaska with a buddy.

Awesome. Glad to see progress is being made. If you are thinking about changing your mani, spend the extra bucks and get the trick flow track heat. I bought the typhoon an wish I went with the track heat. Nothing wrong with the typhoon, the track heat is just superior and looks sooo much better.

The track heat is a great manifold. But for a street driven car the bullitt is actually a better choice. The Track Heat manifold is more for all out drag racing

TF also offers a Street Burner manifold that doesn't kill your low end power like the Track Heat does. It's better than the Bullitt one.

So I guess I'll be dropping in a replacement 4.6 2v. Does anyone have leads on decent engines for decent prices?

And any suggestions that are practical please let me know. I don't have a ton of money since I'm only 21 but I can work pretty hard to make things work.
Powertrainproducts.net I got my motor there and it was $2,200 with a 4 year 1 million mile warranty.

Question: I opted for stage 2 comp cams in my build.. If I go supercharged later is that going to be a problem?

The 270s are great blower cams up to about 13 psi (~500hp) after that they start to really fall off
