Got a shaky medium quality video from my mom today that went to bring my new hood to my friend's house for test fitting on my car! Couldn't rev much past 3k because don't wanna get into boost too much since it's un tuned but here's a video! TEA IS ON!

Actually here's a shorter but better quality clip. And you can hear my mechanic friend talking about how awesome I am to my parents. Haha. Psh.. Like they don't know.

Some people don't understand the call for boost. Plus it may be loud as hell right now but with a hood it's much quieter. She said it sounded badass when they put the hood on. Lol

This was my parent's first time seeing the car in a good while since I started my whole engine/suspension build. My mom had no idea what she was looking at at first. My dad said it was a freakin' beast. I can't wait to get back in the states and pick it up before my new station. I'm ready to leave west Canada. -.- Haha

You can get them in a variety of options. The most basic ones will come with a forged crank, basic forged I beams and Manley forged pistons.

IMHO, I'd much rather put one together myself because then I KNOW it was done right, properly clearance, properly torqued. I'm not saying there aren't good shops for motor builds but nobody is going to care about your stuff like you do.

Except the treehouse guy on Animal Planet... that guy seems to care TOO much about his work lol.

@Scotty- This comment meant for a different thread? Lol.

@Kraft- I'm not literally in Canada. Haha. I live in Southeast Alaska. I do love the mountains and all the hiking and things to do outdoors that I can never do down South... But there is only roughly thirty miles of road on this island. And most of that is barely fit to be called a road. Lol. And max speed limit here is 40. Although there is a 1/2 mile stretch you can go 50 on!

@Ponyboy- Yeah man. Trying my best to do the dyno on Monday! But it's a logistical nightmare for me to get my car there. But it's set for Monday. So I'm counting on that.

By the way! Anyone care to take a stab at what rwhp/tq I'll be putting down on the dyno in a couple days?

Could we get an updated mod list to help a bit? Also how many pounds of boost?

Eh- I won't go into super huge detail on parts. It's quite a long list.

-forged rotating assembly in a teksid block
-compression is a little lower than stock. Not by much(can't remember number).
-Stock heads, just cleaned up.
-Stage two cams.
-Procomp Qualifier intake manifold.
-Vortech V1 S-trim shooting for around 15lbs boost (it's intercooled btw)
-42lbs injectors.
-70mm Throttle body with stock plenum.

And then all the supporting mods to run to about 650-750rwhp/tq. Except my transmission.. Which I'll be replacing soon but in a dyno setting shouldn't take too big of a beating since we won't be banging through the gears. And I know my injectors might be a limiting factor to my above figures of 650-750rwhp/tw. But I've read so many things about some people maxing at 450rwhp on 42s and some going over 600rwhp...

Yeah man, you've had a pretty serious build. My hope would be for that beast to be making 550whp. The two things you need in a car build is time and money, and i'm pretty sure you've put in your fair share of both lmao.

I know what the previous owner of that vortech was running. But he was on stock bottom end. If you are running the same pulley your hp will depend on tune. 430-550 range depending on tune. I'm gonna guess 475...

He also wasn't cammed and had stock intake manifold.

Stock heads will hold you back bigtime but the good news is you can get it running now, enjoy it at the 450-475 mark and then bolt on some better heads and swap to 26 spline input shaft and not worry about anything else.

Scotty what heads would you recommend just out of curiosity? Would a port and polish do the trick?

Ported PI heads will support up and over 700hp with the right combo. The MHS Stage 2 are a really good head that will not cost an arm and a leg.

Interesting.. Replaced the rear seal in the tranny and the 3650 didn't fit- it was too small. Got a T45 seal and it fit perfectly.

Could it be that my 2002 was made with a t45? I thought they switched to a TR3650 in mid production of 2001?

What the heck?

No, but someone could have swapped it along the way. Easiest way is to look at it and just check visually, they look different. The 99-01 T-45s and 01-04 3650s are direct swaps in 99-04 cars. Just have to make sure the shifter matches.

I bought my shifter for a 3650 and it fits perfectly.

Well the black pivot ball cup is a dead giveaway with the shifter not to mention the way it looks in the shifter area of the trans itself.

No idea about the seal though, some jackass at the parts store might have them mixed up?
