Lol I'll go gander in there in like 30 minutes. Headlights literally pop out and pop back in. New wiring harness with these DEPOs is the only thing that might be complicated but I hear its plug and play so we'll see.

Did you ever figure out your trans? Because that place I got mine from is still having tax season specials at $1050 or so shipped to your door fully rebuilt and no core charge. Its a stock rebuild but a stock rebuilt 3650 is good for 500whp on sticky tires and a little more on street tires.

I thought a 10 spline was not for anything over 400 at all? I hear they are weak as all hell.

500 ft lbs is the commonly accepted limit of the 10 spline but some ppl get more out of them, some get a little less. Depends on your tires and how hard you are shocking the drivetrain on launch. At 400whp you will have no issues. I remember I've posted this like 4 times in this thread I think lol. Might have been somewhere else.

That's cool. Maybe I'll let my trans ride this out and see what happens. I won't be dropping the clutch or anything.. Never do. And I should be over 500rwhp/tq. We'll see.

Well if your trans is out of the car the input shaft is $300 with your 10 spline core and install is a DIY thing. Then a 26 spline clutch and you're good. Lots of ppl running 26 spline otherwise stock 3650s on pretty high power cars. 3650 gears are STOUT even from the factory and as much as I don't like the fact that its a 3 rail shifting mechanism vs a single rail in the T-5/45, the 3 rail is stronger at the expense of it being a bit notchy.

Thanks for the input, bud! I really do appreciate all the time you take out and quality information you give, even though I don't always follow it in each case.

However, I think I will be swapping to a 26 spline and keeping my trans otherwise stock. But it won't happen until the car is in my possession once again when I come back to the lower 48.

Another question though... For harder launches will my stock axles/diff hold up? I had it rebuilt recently when I put the 4.10s in(which I'm keeping the gears as 4.10s btw), but should I be upgrading driveshafts and axles? And what all would an axle swap entail? Would I need a new differential? Or will the stock setup, since it's been rebuilt, be able to handle harder launches(maybe track it once a month or so), from a 500ish rwhp/tq car?

I'd upgrade to 31 splines and then obviously you'd need a 31 spline diff.

Well!
Ordered 31 spline moser axles, got a 31spline TRAK-Lok, and a new 26 spline dual disc clutch coming to me!

Now the last piece of the puzzle is the built Tr3650 I will be buying in a couple of weeks!!

And I finally got the hood final fitted. Click image for larger version

If I were there I would make it work no problem. However it's my mom and dad doing the work for me right now since I'm still in Alaska. And the tow truck is only charging us $135 anyway so that's cheap.

Btw!! Just found out I got orders finally and I'll be home for a month starting May 22!! So freaking excited to get my car build done with my own hands and get a dyno and drive the piss out of it!

short block is generally block crank connecting rods and pistons. For 1600 I imagine that only the pistons are forged and comes with h beam rods and cast crank. Just an assumption on that one. Long blocks include heads valves cams and chains generally

It'd be a good idea to actually read a thread before you decide to post something...

Yup you definitely haven't read the thread at all.

We've got a classifieds for a reason

You also have a 20 post minimum. I have never used a forum before never needed to so its new to me. I replied to the first page didn't notice the other 30 pages of comments or the fact that I replied to a post made in 2011. Slight learning curve be patient with me bro. Still better than craigslist.

No worries man, it's easier to just take the time to at least read the last few pages and not look like an idiot. Unfortunately we don't have the largest classifieds section going.

Actually you'll sell your car faster on CL. Just have to make it known that no test drives without cash in hand or a non-refundable deposit. And if you are going to want to sell it on a forum, you're better off on a big one like the Corral.

Also all forums have rules and regs posted in stickies that you can read. Posting ANYTHING classifieds related in a non-classifieds forum is frowned upon and can get your posts deleted/your account locked if its prevalent enough.

At any rate if you are trying to get 20 posts just head to a non-tech forum and BS around.

Getting back on topic, I want to see some dyno sheets of this neverending build lol. Should be a pretty stout. Only worry I'd have is its sat so damn long you are likely going to have some sort of SNAFU but hopefully not.

Posts in the off topic section don't count towards post count. It has to be a tech post.

Well I'll be damned. Lol. Spam away i guess. Kind of douchy though to not really contribute anything. LOTS of forums I belong to require a lot more than 20 posts and also a 30-60 day membership period.

Yeah I've lost close to 300 posts from threads being moved to off topic sections. It used to just be 100 posts but people started complaining for some reason.

IMHO it should be 50-100 posts and a 30-60 day membership period. Those limits exist for a good reason, so people don't just join the forum, spam it with useless posts (and slip their ad into the posts) put up a for sale ad and you never hear from them again on a forum where the point is to help and learn each other and share in this expensive money pit of a hobby lol. If one just wants to sell a car then that's what CL or the front lawn is for although I find it VERY hard (and suspicious) for someone to have a car like that and not have ever been on a Mustang forum before.

My best guess is that if that car is legit the owner got it in a divorce settlement or as a form of payment and is now trying to turn it into $$$.

Anyways, back on topic again. Cole, when are you getting that hood painted? Also, how many actual inches of ground clearance do you have for that intercooler? I once had a Fox with the worst O/R X pipe anyone has ever seen and I had about 1" from the pipe to the road. Surprisingly I did not bottom out much till I got a cheap summit H to replace it with.

Dyno is for sure scheduled for May 28th and everything motor/car wise is finished to be on the dyno for sure. Also the car hasn't been sitting. It gets ran for about ten mins everyday. And driven a mile or two every three or four days. I have my dad taking car of it. I'm leaving Alaska finally on May19 and will be in LA on MAY20 and have a nice list of things to get done in the 30 days I am home which include:
Installing my new built trans
Installing new 26 spline clutch
Fixing clutch cable reach
Installing new 31 spline posi and axles
Painting the hood with my dad(should only take two days at most)
Fixing the position of the intercooler- talked to Cody and he said he had it on his and it was way higher but you have to force it up there a bit but it won't damage anything.
Install my new dash from Florida 5.0 with all my new GlowShift gauges: tach, speedo, fuel, and volt. Gonna look super clean.
Plus since I'll have it out I'm going to paint the bezel around the dash gauge as well as the bezel the gauges will sit in to match the exterior and interior paint.

As it sits the intercooler is about 2.5"-3" off the ground which is decent but it's a $1500 part and I would hate to blow it out somehow. Apparently I can raise it about 3" higher into the bumper to give me full clearance again. Just gonna take some work.

And as for whoever crashed my thread.. I appreciate the information and good luck on selling your car! You'll get the hang of forums pretty quick.

How much is the stock iron block good for? Like 600rwhp?

Because I just found out I got ****ed by the engine shop over a year ago and they reused my stock block and sent back my teksid block. No one told me anything and it's my first day back in the lower 48 and I noticed it.

Am I ****ed?

Well first off, the car is looking damn sexy.

As far as the block, I'm no expert, but the Terminators came with an iron block and push the 600whp range all day with plenty more going higher than that.

So running 500-540rwhp/tq should be relatively safe?
