What was wrong with the old windshield? Also, did you remove the windshield when you painted?

It had been cracked for a long time. And no- we did not remove it. However I did have black primer ready and we put black primer down on all the spots the windshield covered that were still yellow. So good enough. Lol

I've just heard removing it is the "proper" way to paint. Was wondering if you did.

Well yeah if you want a show car. I have no intention of this being a show car. Lol. The other "proper" way to paint is in an actual paint booth.. Not a garage. :p

Promotion performance power-train.

Basically reading off the build receipt:
New bearings, upgraded carbon fiber and sintered synchros, seals, small parts kit, fork pads, 26 spline alloy input shaft, ford TSB, and Beefy Forks.

And I remember them telling me about angled 2nd engagement and gorilla 1-4 forks.

Rated for 700hp+ and they say customers are using them up past 800rwhp+ with no issues.

Everything goes in this week except the new posi and axles(those will go on right after the dyno) and the dyno is for the 11th!

This thing should make good power. Still have to find the correct shorter belt. That's gonna be fun.

And I forget to mention my built one only really cost me $1600ish. But with a $300 core which I will not be returning because I can get as much or more locally. Lol

I could have had my t-45 built to about the same spec as you for the same price but then there was shipping both ways at another $300... Its actually really cost effective to get a modular trans built though, way more than ppl think. Both t-45 and 3650 OEM gears are good for 600ft lbs no problem.

Promotion is a good builder, so is American Powertrain and there is a shop in Georgia that specializes in 3650s too, I forget the name though.

Anyway just make sure you use the right updated fill quantity of 3.2 quarts for that trans and give it a good 1000 mile break in. Also for the TOB, get OEM Ford (not FRPP, OEM) or get a McCleod or one from DD Performance.

Paint was doing something weird and had a bubble forming. We chipped it and sanded all down because this was the area it had been damaged and we found something interesting..Click image for larger version

It was originally zinc yellow. Then some blue color. Then back to zinc yellow.

Had no idea it was painted three times...

Well it looks good now at least. You guys have some mad skillz there btw or at least it looks like it. I mean being able to backyard wrench on a car like a lot of us do is one thing but bodywork is something most of us can't tackle. At least not anymore than a little dent removal and bondo haha.

Haha. Thanks! It's looking pretty good now. I'm excited about it. I'm kinda glad it had this problem because last week I drove over to a friend's house and his pit bull jumped up and put it's claws on the driver side door. I was so mad.. So it had to get redone anyway.

About to be painting soon! Click image for larger version

Just accept the fact that nobody cares.

Lol jk, it looks badass. Actually I think one of those injectors is cracked... I have some pretty orange ones I would trade since I don't drive mine too much.

Aurora's heart died.

Rule of thumb for ME. If you want help on exhaust choices or wheel opinions. Or need advice on what can be plasti-dipped, you've come to the right place. If you've got a sweet build going on we don't want cha!

Jk man, I've been monitoring this thread since the car blew up, and I'm just too damn envious to post. I've LOVE to do this to my car.

Don't forget the threads about tearing down an entire motor because of a slight ticking noise!

In all honesty, this is one of the nicest looking builds I've seen in awhile. And its one of the ones that usually never gets finished and the owner just says "**** it sell it" when it is 75% done. Almost happened to Cole IIRC. Anyway I'm hoping for a good pull on the 11th and maybe he'll finally get to drive this beast haha.

Hey Cole how is that 3650 feeling btw? My bone *** stock rebuilt one with some good fluid and a tri-ax is breaking in really well and is nice and smooth. I'm assuming the Promotion unit will be the same, just able to take a lot more of a beating.

Squeaky Tensioner pulley: Think i need a rebuild. Best threads ever.

I'm in the same boat, Been following this thread since the car blew up . Seems like FOREVER. Best, most detailed build on ME imo. Suspension, Bodywork, Motor work, Trans Work, interior work, and a blower. Hot damn, If he decides to sell this car before it's finished, theres going to be rioting in the streets of MustangEvolution. Couple more days and we'll all get to see what this bad boy can do.

That's more like it y'all!! Haha.

And we had to grind the stopper off my tensioner pulley so it could swing back further so we could use a shorter belt to eliminate the belt slip issue I was having at higher rpm. The transmission goes in today.. Hopefully. Haha.

Then I can answer your question, Scotty!

And thank you for the kind words Pony. Why else am I doing this other than to show off to my peers?!

Nice, well good luck getting it in. Trans install day is a whore of a day sometimes. Although now having done one on this modular I could probably do it in 3 hours like I could with the T-5s. I did have to put a block of wood on the front of my oil pan and tilt the motor back against the firewall to get the 3650 in and out. Just make sure you disconnect any air intake tubes if you do this.
