Just make sure you disconnect any air intake tubes if you do this.

Roger! All vacuum and intake hoses/tubes are disconnected already due to that demon of a belt install. We were planning on tilting it just like you. It's gonna be really interesting! Haha

Well I hope you have a lift and a trans jack... I can't imagine doing one in the driveway on my back... eff that noise. Also you only have to do the two bottom starter bolts but I'm guessing you know that.

Mine was really easy to get everything out because my car has almost 0 corrosion but YMMV. You car looks really well taken care of too so hopefully the mid pipe bolts and DS bolts come out on the first try like mine did.

We replaced all those bolts within two months ago so it should be good! Starting the work now. Ttyl in a few hours.

GL with it right now as you are probably just getting in the air and all. I do not envy you wrestling that stupid 120lb transmission over your head. Like I said I really hope you have a trans jack.

On our third belt. This is ridiculous. We can't get one right. They are so super tight.

Gonna try another one!

Still haven't even touched the trans.

Yep- it's a better size. Still probably will have a little belt slip.

More importantly I have the proper fuel system this time I think.

So all the things I did that were wrong last time are perfect this time.

And now I find out the long block is built wrong and they didn't even use correct parts. We have to pull the motor...

Aurora's heart died.

Bottom of the line flat top pistons.. Yeah they were forged but ****ty Chinese ones. No fly cuts or anything. Valves hitting on the whole engine. And even worse- Compression ratio checked out at 11.5:1 when I asked for stock or under.. Which is 9.6:1 or LESS. I told them this was going to be a blower motor. What the ****?

Not even sure they used a stage 2 cam as I asked. And a host of other issues.

Wow... well find the builder and see if they make it right I guess... Or just tear it down, buy some $160 boss rods, $500 MMR pistons and an OEM forged crank and put it all back together. I'd get those cams looked at too.

It's either *** kicking time or just sue his ***. You won't need a lawyer for that if you have a written reciept with details on components that were supposed to be used. And you can tack on all your hidden costs associated with th7s ****up.

No quick fix here it seems.

Give us the builder if does not fix. We can ruin him on the web.

Crap, I can do that alone, lol.

Wouldn't be the first time I put someone out of business.

Hey Cole, do I remember this right, you said you dropped off a teskid block with the machine shop and got an iron block back right? What are the odds that they mixed up your short block with another customers short block?

Wow I missed that post. Or if I didn't it didn't click that he had dropped off a Teksid and they used the wrong block.

Uh, yeah that would have been the time where I would have not believed anything they did and demanded they refund my money or rebuild the motor with the Teksid and send me documenting photos as they go.

Yet another reason I do ALL my own work. Unless it involves welding and I need to learn to weld...

Well are you going to let it sit or have someone part it or what? Anything from the builder?

They are stepping up and paying my mechanic to pull the engine and take it to them.. Then letting him supervise all parts bought and the assembly of the long block to ensure I get what I want exactly.. And then paying him to put it back in my car.

Or that's the deal so far. We will see. Either way it doesn't help me because I leave in 9 days and won't be able to come get my car for at least six months.

Wow that shop is really stepping up. That is not the norm from what I've seen but roll with it. Make them use your Teksid this time.
