That would be a good choice, just make sure you get a good guarantee with your purchase.
Check out DSS, Coast High Performance and several of the mod engine only builders to find the best deal.

P.S. I noticed you still have the stock hood on there. Are you going to ever want an aftermarket hood? If so now is the time.

Thanks for the names to search. I'll look around!

As for a hood.. I really always wanted like.. A 3" cowl hood but can't justify the money since my stock one works. Lol

Dad mixed extra paint so he played a bit and sprayed the whole rear with a black base coat. This isn't the final color we're using and we're gonna sand it more after it dries; basically the black coat is to help us more easily find the imperfections and body issues.

It's going to look fantastic!

One of my all time favorite colors is a Black Cherry that Mopar used in the past.
Give your dad a big hug from all of us. It's great to see him take an interest and help you with your project.

Chevy had a black cherry on their SS Monte Carlo. One of the best looking and performing cars. Still love them eventhough I can't replace the stangs.

I'm really excited about this color.

Also going to do a more complete coloring of the car in terms of even in the engine compartment. Gonna do a black on the block, jetchrome mode all metal pieces, and then paint te timing cover and valve cover with the same paint as the exterior except it's going to have 3x more pearl ad gonna shine red like crazy when light hits it. I'm sure this is going to turn out well.

The door jams came out really well. Have to sand and repeat the passenger side a bit but that's easy.

I'm stoked!

That will look great, glad it's working out for you.
Once you get a look at those engine parts you may want to add that extra pearl to the car paint as well.

I'm glad to see you working along side of your dad . My dad and I always talked about rebuilding a car or cars together but actually put all that talk to work. He past away before we got the chance to.

We're only halfway done so no final numbers but my dad estimates it'll be roughly $1800-$2100 just in paint if we get everything fixed with this base coat and don't have to spray base again.

We haven't sprayed the actual paint yet; that's just regular black in the pics.

Oh.. And it's not costing my father and I a dime. We get the paint for free and are outing good 'ole blood sweat and tears into the labor ourselves.

Already hard at work again! There were still a bit of issues so we're marking them and correcting! And my sister left me a note on my windshield. Hah

I'm looking to go badgeless. Beside welding the holes closed and using a little filler and sanding that down I've only heard of one other way.

However my dad has never seen this done.

I've been told to get the little plugs people put in the holes, sand them down flush, use body filler on that, then sand again. Is there any truth to this? If so where do I find these plugs?

Quick replies are appreciated because we want to final paint it within a week!!

Because of the work you guys have done on that car, I think I'd weld the holes and use the filler to get it smooth. That way, you know something won't loosen or corrode and haunt you down the road. IMO

If you plan to keep the car do it right not fast. Take the time to weld the holes and fill them in. The plug route works but I would rather use metal then filler. Atleast then you know it is done right and not wonder if it's going to fall out down the road.

Get a piece of copper or carbon to hold behind the hole and just weld them up using short stitch or spot weld bursts to keep from deforming the metal to much.
Anything else will eventually fail leaving you with a hole in your new paint job.

Got a Welder lined up to do it.

Also put final paint on roof and doors! I can't show anyone the final product yet but here are some shots of us working it! The guy in the pics is my dad. He wouldn't let me do the buffing. He likes to do it. Lol

Also here are some finished pieces on the interior and engine compartment! These are all painted to match body with black and red pearl! Looks sick. I love the valve covers. And the reservoir turned out awesome!!
