suggestions plz?

Ok I been thinking for about two weeks now on what I really want to put into my car! I have an 03 stock auto GT! I have about 1000 to spend and I was thinking an X pipe CAI and tuner from American muscle! Would that give me a decent increase in power? Any suggestions on what I could do?

Sounds like a good list, but maybe gears and a tuner? That would really wake the car up.

You could gift to me just kidding. It will give you some increase probably around 40 hp being conservative here. It will give you much better sound which is always a plus. Gears wont add much if any power, but will give some excitement.

Non performance if you just have a little over:
Tinted windows, shorty antenna, HID's.

Definitely get the tuner and x-pipe. I vote skip the CAI, it's quite useless in my opinion but there are people that will argue that point with me. I say +1 to the gears, and I don't mean to contradict, but you aren't getting 40hp out of a tune, CAI, and x-pipe.

My 02gt has:
Bbk CAI
Bbk 78 throttle body/ plenum combo
Mac cat back
MGW short throw
Sct tuned (on 91 race ATM)
DR rear tires

And it feels like a totally different car now.

As soon as I have the time now that my trucks fixed I'll be installing my 3.73 gears and my Mac pro chamber mid pipe.

Oh yea, cai too. I was thinking about doing tb/plenum. Will it make a big difference?

Not sure about hp increase, I'm sure it added some...but throttle response is GREAT!!! And it pulls soo much easier and smoother now

Everyone is giving you great suggestions, but how about addressing handling? Your car makes too much power for the stock suspension as is. H&R ss or race springs plus tokiko d spec shocks/struts, camber/caster plates or bolts, plus some Hawk HPS replacement pads will give you a lot more control of your stang.

Charlie, I think you're on the right track for what to get. The x-pipe has its own benefits compared to gears. But either way I would get a Bama tune with one of them to see the biggest result! The choice is yours to make for the exhaust or gears, but again I don't think you can really go wrong in this situation.

If you figure out what suites you best, give our Mustang Experts a call so they can hook you up! En enjoy the new parts and contact me if you have any questions at all!

Shane
