new tuner isues

I just installed my new sct tuner chip. Now the car won't start. Anybody have this happen to them. I sprayed with starting fluid and it runs. I am no longer getting fuel, what is going on.

It might help to reflash back to stock to see if it's the tune. It could be your fuel pump.

That would be awfully coincidental. I drove it into the garage.

I had this problem when my programmer locked up I returned it back to stock and it cranked right up.
I have heard that the chips have this problem often.

Mine also randomly shut off in the middle of driving!
Extremely dangerous,
I just pulled mine out, A.M states no returns on tuners or chips, so I just kept it.
I'm getting a tuner soon.

Re: new tuner isues

I gave up on it last night as it was getting late. Before I put the chip in, when I would turn the key to on, I could always hear the fuel pump. With the chip in I can't hear it. I don't know if it is the chip or if I coincidently need a pump now. Hopefully it is just the pump relay.

I've had my SCT chip in my Termi for a month now and zero problems. I'm actually quite satisfied with its performance ... The race tune is incredible !!!

I took my time to ensure the contacts were cleaned off completely and the copper was showing in each. The one thing I noticed is when your reinstalling
the ecu back into the kick panel you have to be very cautious not to binde up the cord because it will shift the chip which will not work properly. I used duck tape
to secure the cord and put pressure on it to prevent the cord from moving.

Hope this helps some

Yeah but I told them they can either return it for me or lose my business. They returned it.

I've found out that most places say they can't do certain things. They can, they just don't want to. Plus if it makes your car shut off, that would be a nasty law suit if someone got hurt.

Re: new tuner isues

Here is where I stand a few days later to think about it... Car still won't strat. I checked the fuel pump relay and it is fine. The pump is ok. I removed the chip from the computer and the car still won't start. Now with no chip when I put the key to the on position a light on the dash flashes security. Is there a relearn procedure that anybody knows about.

Now that the chip is removed you could disconnect the battery for like 15-20 seconds and try it again. this should reset the computer to its factory 1st start parameters.

Re: new tuner isues

I might have found the issue. Anybody have trouble running the control cable to the chip in the computer? It seems like there is no room. Or do I plug it in, turn the knob to the setting I want, then take it back out. Been searching for a good way to run the cable but it seems like the plastic housing for the computer is solid at the top where the cable should go.
