Re: Production number????

Hmm...that's a good question. On the limited/lower production cars they make it real easy but the mass production cars - v6/GT's not so much.

I don't know if you could take the vin to ford and see if they could dig something up...honestly, they made 26,238 GT coupes in 03...highly doubt being number 1 or number 26,238 really makes a difference but it would be neat to know.

Re: Production number????

Yah the Bullitts and Cobra R's were given the production numbers so it's real easy for those guys...ours are a bit harder.

I know there were 7,566 sonic blue mustangs made in 03. I believe the 1407 SB cobras were counted in this number too, as they were only produced in sonic blue in 03, that brings the number of v6/GT's down some.

Sonic blue was the 2nd lowest mass production color after tropic green in 03, so our cars are more rare compared to a lot of other colors in 99-04.

It would be nice to know what exact production number our cars was, but it's not easy to find out...like I said maybe Ford could find out...

Yeah I did have a sonic blue gt and I totaled it back in January, I spun out on wet roads and the only car coming that night rear ended me but when gieco came to give us a price on the damage the insurance adjuster took it in to consideration about the color since sonic blue was rare in 03 just like you said

Re: Production number????

Damn, that sucks man..sorry to hear

Well, that's good to know that some insurance companies take the color into consideration.

Are you looking for another stang or is that one in your avatar pic your current stang..it looks like it's true blue.

Re: Production number????

So I'm guessing they were able to access Ford's database or something in order to find that out...that or all of that info pops up when they enter the vin number. I'm going to ask my local Ford dealership to pull my vehicle info up and see what it says.

Very interesting, thanks!
