How and where do I count the splines? I need to figure out whether it has 28 or 31 splines.

Re: c clamps

i think you have to take the pin that goes through the differential case out then slide the axles in a bit and then you can pop them off.

You have to pull an axle to count splines. If your rear is stock its 28 spline.
To remove c clips you have to drain the diff, remove the diff cover, locate.c.clip on either side of the locker and remove.

I believe it is stock. Is there a way other than using two screwdrivers that will work?

Magnet tool, should pull right out assuming you pulled the center pin out.

We got em out, we had to remove the abs sensors, which break easily.

I'll have a whole new rear end by the end of tomorrow, (except gears), new axles, new bearings, carrier bearing and everything.
