Tuner, Bad for manuals???

I just heard that a tuner was good for autos, and bad for manuals? Why would it hurt a manual car?

They wouldn't hurt a manual... They are good for both, but help automatics more because they alter the computer controlled shift points to be more firm, quick, etc.

+1 for both. Manual still gets 10-15 hp jump on a
Stock motor. More spark and great for future mods too

I have the SCT with Bama tunes for my manual it helped a lot woke it up and made me good better MPG.

That's what I said, I mean an auto still has the same engine, the only difference about tuning an auto would be that your tuning the transmission too (shift points). I just don't understand how it could possibly be bad for one and not the other. An engine is an engine, period. So tuning a manual would just mean your tuning the engine and not the transmission too, and tuning an auto would mean your tuning both the engine and transmission.

+1 on everything that was said above but doesnt matter if it is a auto or manual a tuner will help you out the most when you get it dyno tuned. Yes, I got a tune from AM when I bought the tuner and when I got the car dyno tuned and the used the tuner it was a big difference. Also depends on what you have done to your car as well.

It don't mater what car you have!.. If your after performance then you need to get a tuner for it!..

It's definitely a great buy for both, but like stated above it helps autos more because it alters the shift points. I got the SCT SF3 tuner from AM and the $85 CAI and my car throws me back shifting at 85 mph in my auto! That's on the race tune of course
