Lightbulb Convertable light bars

Does anyone have any pictures they can post of their convertable with a light bar? Perferable laser red in color on the outside and the tan/black on the inside. Im trying to make my mind up on if i want to get the tan or black light bar for my car. I will post a picture of what my interior looks like. What do yall think....

Yea, I saw a few pictures on AM, summit, and mrbodykit of the black one and I like it, just wanted to see some pictures with the tan one on with my interior color before I ordered it. Far as the LED lights, was it hard to hook them up and where did you hook the up at?

I haven't see the tan one on a mustang when I do see a convertible with the bar it's always black.
I bought the car with the light bar and led lights in it I have no idea where there hooked up at.

It's not hard...while you have the seat out installing you have access to all the wires you need...get the switch as well so you are not lighting up your interior when the top is up!

Yea, I can agree with that because thats the only color I have seen so far with any convertable I have come across. I think I have my mind set on the black one just dont know if I want to spend the extra money for the LED light....

2002VertGT Yea, I noticed in the directions that you had to take the seat out during install. I have seen that summit has the whole kit for harness for less then AM is selling it. I just got to make my mind up if I want the LED brake light or not lol.

Id say, go with whatever color the panel is that the bar mounts into.a guy around here had a white bar and tan interior on a white vert... looked kinda f'd up.

---------- Post added at 03:20 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:19 AM ----------

If where the bar connects is tan get tan....it wouldn't look right IMO.

Re: Convertable light bars

Not red, but I went with Parchment with a parchment interior. I agree go with the bar that matches the color of your panels/interior. Some black/parchment interiors look ok IMO, however I like it to match.

Yea, after Arrons pics I may go with the tan one...but if I dont like it then I could always sell it and get the other one lol thanks for your input though, its helping...

Arron I thought about putting a body kit on it but since its a cobra I dont want to mess up the way it looks, for some reason the way they have the cobras setup it gives them that aggresive look esp the two holes in the hood.

Runvsofthisbull....hey, thanks for the picture along with Arrons picture I think im going with the tan one cuz it does look good when it matches.

The tan does look real clean, that's the first time I seen the tan. Everything is black inside of mine so the black looks good on mine.

Re: Convertable light bars

Ive installed two, I even have an article on this very forum (94-04 CDC Light Bar Installation - Mustang Evolution) overall its easy with just a few special tools needed and the help from a friend for a few this and thats.

Its not hard at all just takes a bit of time (2-4 hours probably depending on how fast/slow you make it)

The hardest part of it all is cutting the holes, which is easy its just mentally hard to drill into panels so you MUST measure 10 times and cut once lol and use the CORRECT hole bits not the wood versions.... and those stupid plastic plugs fall out (I am currently missing one....)

order the CDC lightbar direct from CDC, call them and ask them when you order it to keep the emblem/sticker off of it. If you dont you will have a tacky looking CDC emblem on the driver side by the bottom.... looks bad. The seatbelt loops also have to be modified or replaced with roush versions (which suck)

I used his thread along with the instructions...and cutting the holes is, well, nerve wracking to say the least...I bought a second set of side panels cause I messed up...not enough for anyone to notice, but I notice :,(

Good info on the rest but if you order the CDC one will the seatbelt loops need modified or replaced? Also, if you go with the roush versions where do you by the seatbelt loops that you need to correct the issue?

Yes stock seatbelt loops will hit the light bar and scuff the finish..

Re: Convertable light bars

Don't forget to order the brake light relay that only activates the brake light when the top is down... Otherwise you will light up your interior every time you hit the brakes with the top up... Easy to wire in, it ties in under the back seat if I remember correctly.

I added the light bar on my 1999 along with the 2 piece speedster cover that Kar Kraft used to sell. My 2011 came with the light bar already installed from Saleen.

Re: Convertable light bars

CDC makes the Roush version FYI so its all a CDC brand lightbar, the Roush version just has no badge.

the light cut off kit is not included by default. I didnt order it, dont really need it~ if anyone was to ride in the back I would recommend it but other than that I have no issues with it.

Oh, ok well thanks for that info man and far as you say it doesnt bother you, you mean the light will come on all the time when you hit the brakes? I dont get that relay that tfalk is talking about, I'm sure I can just use a toggle switch couldnt I ?
