Ported and Polished 2v Heads??

Ive been looking at buying some heads for my 2 valve but they're very expensive!! Someone told me to port and polish my stock heads but I don't know if it would even be worth the trouble... Has anyone out there ever done it or knows anything about it???

Depending on where you live. There could be shops around you that can port and polish your heads at a much cheaper price. The rest it's so expensive to buy heads is because your buying all new heads. Call around to local shops and see if they can do the work.

I have ported and polished PI heads with bronze valve guides and 1mm larger stainless valves. These heads should give another 50-60hp. I have a little over $2k in them.

For just a little more money you could have had the Trickflow top end. But those are very nice!

Don't waste your money on patriot heads, that's what I have and I hate them. You would be better off porting your own or getting trickflows or some ported trickflows would be even better.

Re: Ported and Polished 2v Heads??

I bought new heads, either they were trick flow or ford racing, but they were fully CNC ported heads and it made a difference along with everything else I added.

No trick flows don't come ported. They are their own cast head. You can port them even more and they can flow over 300 CFM. Thats an insane amount of air.
