wheel bearing

ok, i just replaced my wheel bearing on my passenger rear wheel. right now its still in the air, no brake hardware on it yet, but the pinion shaft is in. should there be any play on the axle in and out? the other side is still all together and im not wanting to take it apart to find out.

Re: wheel bearing

I have no clue. But why not change the other wheel bearing while your at it. If one went out the other has to be almost just as worn.

Re: wheel bearing

When you put the bolt back in where the spider gears in the dif, you shouldnt get any play. I think you are allow some play but little at that. If you get too much play it will wear the bearing out...before you bolt everything back up call your local speed shop, or someone that does that install of ring and pinion sets or etc and they will be able to tell you.
