Finally was able to watch the Mustang Alley vid. For some reason it wouldn't download. Anyway, I thought it was cool. Don't understand the dislike either.

I was looking at Edlebrocks website a few days ago. They don't really have much of anything for the 4.6L's. Do they even make aftermarket intakes for the 4v's? Also, are the Mark engines intakes plastic too? I couldn't find a pic on google.

Mark 8's intake is aluminum. There's not much aftermarket for the 4v's intake wise. Unless you have someone make a custom one which is pretty costly. It's the dual intake ports that mess with it. There's a guy who makes a 4 barrel carb intake for the 4v but I want the EFI not a carb.

So the 2v's and the Mach1 4v is plastic, except for the radiator elbow? Sounds stupid, but I really don't want a plastic intake. If I have to open it up to replace the intake because it cracks, or even replace head gaskets, I want to buy an aluminum intake. I can understand not wanting a carbed setup.

Yeah I can understand. But I'm not even sure they make a aluminum one for you guys with Mach 1 and bullitts. But I know that the intakes from those cars will not work on the mark 8's and cobras from 96 to 98.

There are no plastic intakes on 4v. Your Mach is aluminum it is the same intake as the maurder* just exits on pass and not driver.

Bullit intakes are as ell aluminum. There are a few aftermarket aluminum intakes for the 2v. Trick flow makes one similar to the bullit intake.

Well that clears things up. I never looked real close at a Mach or bullitt so I wasn't sure. I'm gonna start looking at intakes for the 99+ and possibly make some kind of adapter from the c intake to b heads. One way or another this car is going to run before fall hits!!!

Good to know mine is aluminum!

95v686gt, would that be like a custom spacer or something to make it work with the diff heads?

Yeah it would allow the c head intake to work with the b style heads. I'm going to research it more and see what I can come up with.

That will be cool man. I hope you can get you an intake so you can get moving with your 4v.

Well get one if those intakes. I looked into the adaptor thing and it just is feasible to do so. Because of the split design the spray for the fuel is not optimal. No harm in trying but just saying its cheaper to start mark the upgrade

Nope is the same swap once the v6 and wiring are gone. You'd then follow the v8 swap. But you need the ecm and a tune to disable pats.
