Re: Deleting cats on 02 stang

it will sound different...cant say it will be good or bad but if you are going to do that might as well buy a x or h pipe with no cats on them for the money and time you spend cutting the cats off.

I replaced mine with an H-pipe. I love it. My buddy has an 01 Cobra with an X and we both like the H pipe's sound more.

H is more throaty, X is a bit more raspy.

U can delete the rear cats and you will be fine... i did it to my car b4 i got my off road x and i didnt have a check engine light. As long as you leave all the sensors on it shouldn't throw a code. It made the car a good bit louder and gave it some balls

Deleting on rear set should be ok, as you're still getting some cat action. If you do happen to throw a code, MIL eliminators are cheap... or you can get a tuner and just shut them off.
