It wouldn't be a cracked intake manifold, would it? I know thats a common problem, especially with the plastic ones, that can cause leaks.

Re: exhaust problems

The easiest way to find out where the leak is coming from is to get underneath the car and see if you can see a black sut anywhere on the manifold gasket, manifold,or where the bolt up to the exhaust itself. Have you replaced the stock h pipe when a aftermarket one?

Well in that case it can be alot of things....I would still see if you can see a black soot near the manifold to block or on the manifold...

Hmm, id check it good anyways. If it was plastic, that would almost definitely be your problem

I'd check the other things too, but I'm guessing that's your problem. Those things crack as easy as egg shells.

It's probably fixable (not positive) but I would just get a new one to prevent further problems. I'm getting the trick flow one mentioned earlier in the other thread. Just be sure to get aluminum if you get a new one.

It does a good bit, I'm not sure the estimates though. AM just says greatly improves performance in the powerband of 1500-6500 rpm. It'll be even better with a matching throttle body.

Re: exhaust problems

it also helps if you heads are ported and polished along with the trick flow.... You have plastic EXHAUST MANIFOLDS?

---------- Post added 05-29-2012 at 12:04 AM ---------- Previous post was 05-28-2012 at 11:55 PM ----------

Well if you are referring to your EXHAUST MANIFOLD, not intake, then I think I have my stock manfoilds still put up in the attic that you can have just pay shipping for them.

Re: exhaust problems

A intake manifold that sits on top of the engine would cost like a hundred on up to buy a new one. To replace it, its not hard to do you can do it yourself but if you had a shop do it might be 200 or more in labor im guessing. But you have a exhaust leak, your intake manifold doesnt have anything to do with this....
