Pcv broken?

Hey every one, I was doing some research on the PCV valve and I'm trying to figure out if mine's broken. I've read online that you should shake it and it should rattle but it's supposed to be spring loaded. Well mine rattles but it's definitely not spring loaded. In fact I don't even see a spring in it. It has an electrical connector on it as well, what is that for? My car is a 2004 gt.

Here the deal you need to take the valve and suck on the end of it to endure it closes tightly. If it does not seal properly then you need to replace it. Make sure to replace it with a Fors Motorcraft path only. The aftermarket ones are cheap junk

Ok I've taken it off and I can blow and suck through both ends with no resistance so I guess it's bad. Any idea what the electrical connector is for??

The electrical connector is for heating the element for when it's cold outside. The pcv should suck closed on the engine side. It does not seal completely but pretty close

I was able to suck through it from both ends with 0 resistance.
