Cobra R Wing

Just curious bout the cobra r wing, why does everyone seem to dislike it. I kinda like it cuz it gives it a racy look.

I'm not totally against it lol. I think it looks good on some stangs. The cobra bumper with or w/o the R splitter is a must have when adding the spoiler IMO. It does require the decklid to be reinforced though. Also depends on the styling/type of driving you plan on doing. If you plan on open tracking the car often it would come in handy.

There are better wings out there if you want to add downforce to your rear end.

Re: Cobra R Wing

Well, I would say the only way to pull this off would be if the car was dropped (race suspension) some wheels (real wide rear rubber) an aggressive front bumper to match, and the power to back it up.

I've seen one on an otherwise stock V6 and it looked awful to me.
It CAN give the car a 'racey' look but only if the rest of the car is built to match it..

Ok have to agree on this one lol that looks absolutely awful. And I agree with the saying the car has to be built around it

You don't need a spoiler unless you are a professional racer drag or road in a race car and that's that.

I guess everyone has a good point about it. I have been looking at some mustangs and they do kinda look weird. That and I saw a sixer with one and it looked awful. I was just trying to visualize it on my mustang and thought it would look good but not after seeing that one driving around with one. I'll just keep the one I have it looks good with it.

The cobra r is a mean machine, although I don't like the looks of it at all! The chin and wing are both too extreme for me.

Understanding that this was intended for the road track, not the street. So Im not seeing the extreme there.. jmo

Re: Cobra R Wing

Without a doubt its a track car.... but still a lil fugly! Its not putting down that many horses to have such a huge wing or such a low nose... you don't see the tricked out termis looking so extreme.. just saying the spoiler and chin are a lil too much

I bought my 04 GT with the wing and kept it, even with the option of going back to the stock wing. With 315 tires and lowered suspension it looks badass. Also it's different then any other Mustang around here. Normally I wouldn't choose to put it on most cars, but for mine it looks amazing. I wouldn't have it any other way.

How many termis do you see and a constant 4000+ rpm on a road track and out of those how many are stock trim just saying. And yes I do see termis with spitters out front. The look is soild its a track car not street

I'm liking the lip on those wheels. 17x10 or 10.5?

17x10.5s. The look from every angle pulls the whole look together. I had the stock wheels on there when I bought it and it didn't make quite as sense.
