Headers aren't really worth the hassle especially shorties IMO if your to do anything long tubes or spend the 300 some dollars on intake or pullies

Why are shorties a waste? You get some gains throughout the power band and they sound better than stock manifolds. Plus, the don't get in the way if you need to work on your clutch.

Yea I agree I don't think they are a waste. Don't they give u more hp then an intake? They might not be a waste but I feel it's more common sense to get LT since they give u more hp and better sound

Shorties are 1-3 horse power, I would just hate to snap a bolt in the head and have to worry about that. It's just personal opinion that's why you posted it to ask questions if you don't like what other ppl have to say don't post

Do shorties yield more HP/TQ when coupled with a good H mid pipe setup? How about much difference between high flow cats and no cats mid pipe?

It's not worth the money you gonna put down for the horsepower you get back in return better off investing it in something else

Re: Shorty headers next mod?

I like this thread a lot!! Thanks for being truthful and not just being nice! I was about to invest a lot of money into headers! now i think ill go with a nitrous kit instead!!! spend a little more money then i would on headers but get a lot better gains!!

Personally I would spend the extra on getting LTs and a short O/R X-pipe vs getting Nitrous!.. Nitrous you have to keep putting money into and you can only use it at the track!.. With headers the gains you get are always there and you can use any time!..

Actually I have seen up to 5-6hp gains from a set of shortys. But its not with the money and the hassle. You can get more power from intake, pulleys, and a electric fan and are much more easy to do.

He was just asking a question no need for the tude. Don't forget that in CA they are anal about emissions and do random smog checkpoints and if you get caught with none c.a.r.b. parts you get sent to the state reff and pay fines. Thats the reason I have shortys and not LTs on my fox because I rather not get a $500 fine for a couple hp.
