Cylinder Misfiring?

A couple of weeks ago my 2000 GT Had a Cylinder 8 misfiring and I changed all the Spark plugs and The number 8 Coil on Plug. This week it started the vibration again when it is under stress or has to climb in RPM's I shot the codes again and it said Cylinder 1 and 8 were misfiring this time! Any Ideas on what it may be? or how to fix it?

Re: Cylinder Misfiring?

Make sure the bores for the coils are clean and dry (when you pull the coils out is there any moisture whatsoever on the boot?)

Beyond that it could be a fuel delivery issue, has he gotten gas at a crappy place lately? might have gummed up an injector or two...

Cylinders MisFiring Any Seggestions?

All right so around 3 weeks ago my 2000 GT had a cylinder 8 misfire so I changed all the Spark plugs and the #8 Coil Pak then last week I had a Cylinder 1 and Cylinder 8 Misfire so I changed the number 1 Coil Pak and it fixed that and I swapped the #8 coil pak with the #2 coil pak and still i have a Cylinder 8 misfire but now not only do i have a cylinder 8 misfire on my obd II scanner it also says Random/multiple cylinder misfires any seggestions? I ahve tried everything i know I'm thinking maybe fuel filter but I dont see how that could cause so much trouble. I'm open to any seggestions at this point!!

Re: Cylinders MisFiring Any Seggestions?

Have you replaced the wires??? I know It is a coil over system by your discription but I have experienced in the past that the "wires" do go bad.(that happened to me with an excursion) Those little things that look like spark plug boots have a center core that does go bad. Hope this helps

Re: Cylinder Misfiring?

now knowing it says random misfires as well, check the MAF/02 sensors, and fuel pressures...
