Transmission scratches

While clutch is all the way down it scratches in 3rd and 4th no other gears and some time gets stuck in reverse. A while back I had it on Cruz control and in 4th when I started to slow down it was stuck so I had to ride it out could it be that the fluid is low or the clutch needs to be changed or adjusted?

Re: Transmission scratches

if the clutch petal is really low towards the floor before you start to feel it working then you need to adjust it up. You can manually adjust it by pushing in the clutch with your left hand and holding the clutch quadrant with your right hand. Its white in color and half moon shaped and the clutch cable goes over it. It is located above the gas petal.

Ease out on the clutch while holding against the motion the quadrant wants to rotate, it has to rotate just hold against it. You will hear a very noticeable click, perform a couple times and the petal will get higher each time.

You want to test to make sure you have enough slack by driving about 45mph hold the gas steady with your foot and ease in the clutch if you can push it about .5 inches to .75 inches from where it sits before the rpms raise up you are ok (thats the point it starts to slip)

That might help me out I drive way to close to the steering wheel than I need to because of the clutch. But is it possible to untighten it? I guess you would call it lol

Thanks helps with shifting but it still scratches in 3rd and 4th though so I'm pretty sure it the syncronizers I'm probably gonna have to rebuild the transmission
