Gears vs gas mileage

What is gas mileage like if you move from the stick 3.27's to say 3.73's or 4.10's. I'd like to make my car run quicker but it is my DD so I don't want to lose alot if fuel economy. I average like 14/15 now at 200 miles per tank. Sometimes more or less depending on how I've been driving

Generally you will pick up a few city driving and lose a few on the highway. Our 04 gt auto averages 18 city and 21 hwy with the stock 3.27's

That's weird.. I see roughly the same numbers in my '02 GT 5speed with 4.10s.

So even with 4.10's your gas doesnt suck? When you're cruising in 5th gear what are your rpms like?

Roughly 2100-2200 rpm at 65 mph. Check out the links in my signature.

Big difference between auto and 5 speed gearing...

When you redline at 6250 if you ever have before what's your approximate speed. Or if you had to guess what it would be

I've averaged 18MPG since Feb w/3.73's and 5spd. That is a mix of city and highway with spirited driving

Are you asking redline speeds with each gear or top-end redline?

Not really sure in the lower gears because when I am driving it hard I tend to glance at the tach instead of the speedo. But I can get about 105-110 out of 4th gear. I know this because I am usually crossing the 1/4 mile at the top of 4th gear.
