Aftermarket headunit

Been installing headunits for a couple years now. This will be the first mustang I do. I've seen on here it's not simply splice n plug for stangs? Can I not just stop at best buy and pick up a installation kit and wiring harness?

What was done on mine before I bought it is they put a little cubby hole in the bottom part and put the aftermarket head unit in the top part. I don't know what it looks like behind it though. I would like to get a new one cuz this one doesn't have the ability to plug my phone into it, but this one looks really good.

Im not sure if Best Buy has a kit, but I ordered mine from Crutchfield.com. you will need to either solder it or just use some electrical connectors for the wires.

I thought crutchfield supplies whatever hardware you'd need? If there's a Harbor Freight nearby, they sell great little electrical connector kits for CHEAP. I have used the same 2 or 3 dollar kit on numerous small electrical projects, including audio.

They do, except for the connectors

Yeah crutchfield is the best you get everything you need except the connectors. But if you have the mach stereo make sure you use both harnesses they give you or your amps wont work and it will try to play the bass through the tweeters. It sounds terrible believe me I did it.

Straight answer: NO. Go online here to Rhudy's in Fayetteville, NC. They do custom car stereos. http://www.rhudysjewelry.net/ .link says jewelry but I got my adapter from them without splicing anything for my Mach 460. they do ship.
