Ow much oil needs to go into the rear of the 8.8. I've read 3 qt and I've read 2 bottles of 1 qt and a bottle of friction modifier

I believe its 3. A local shop changed the oil on a rear end recently and used 3.

They're inexpensive versus losing your rear end. I bought four when I got my gears put in. And luckily I did because it leaked a lot at first and I had to use the extra bottle. Lol

I'm pretty sure royal purple has the friction modifier added in already.

You will need to buy 3 bottles and you will only use around 2.5 or so of them.
