Strange Electrical problem

So two weeks ago I replaced my alternator because it went bad (after only a year and a half). The other night I was out for a cruise and suddenly all lights dimmed a bit and my battery light on my dash was flickering, yet the car seemed to drive normally. What do you think the problem is? Does the battery need replacing?

I have yes. To the alternator and to the battery. However there was a wire I cut out a week ago. It ran from the hood to the trunk of the car. It was for a subwoofer but it was connected to anything I believe. Well it is in the back but nothing under the hood. Idk perhaps it's related to that?

I wouldn't think so. Did you get a rebuilt alternator?
