Rim size question - Mustang Evolution

Rim size question

I've been trying to figure out what size rims to buy at first I been wanting a staggered set at 17x9 17x10.5 but my buddy tells me it's gonna kill my top end would love the feed back thanks

That's what I have and my top end is fine.
I have full bolt on's and with the wide rear tires it bites to the ground great! I can run 150 if I want to with no problems.

I've got staggered 18s with 295/35 on back and I raced a newer GT the other day up to 145. It was still pulling hard. That's with full bolt ons.

I have cai off road h, flow cat back. I'm getting the bbk combo throttle body and pb. An you guys think I'll be good cause I want the 10.5's they look awesome

Got the same combo, but catted x-pipe, pulleys and 3:73s. No problems.
