Hey all, so I've been having this weird ticking in my car and can't really figure it out. I haven't taken it anywhere to get checked yet because I figured I'd try and solve the issue myself. Doesn't make noise during idle, only when I rev the car, and while driving mainly around 2k-2500rpm.

Here's a quick video, you can kind of hear it in the video over the exhaust just have to turn the speakers up a bit. I'll try and get a better one when I can.

I've been reading and having people tell me it could be lifters, pulleys, or even a motor in the HVAC system going bad? Does anybody recognize this sound? It seems like its coming from the back of the motor near the firewall...IM STUMPED.

Any help would be appreciated sorry for the speech! lol

Re: Weird "Clicking" Noise

I would say a lifter.....maybe? piston slap def engine related though. Get a stethoscope and while the engine is running check in places near the top of the head on the valve cover...then check on the bottom of the engine around the oil pan and on the side of the block.

Make sure you dont have a blown exhaust manifold gasket on the back exhaust tube of the block.
