superchargers+headers

OK I have a 2004 gt w/ Vortec V-1 supercharger plus other mods 464 rwhp.I have stock exhaust manifolds and I was wondering if I would benefit from hearders.I heard they don't mix well due to the extra heated air created by the S/C.

Re: superchargers+headers

yes you will benefit.

yes they put off heat.

the combined underhood heat from both the SC and Headers combined should not affect anything.

you could always get a heat extractor hood...........

Re: superchargers+headers

You can wrap the headers to cut down on radiant heat aswell.

Re: superchargers+headers

Thanks for the info. any sugestion on a good pair?I was looking into the edelbrock victor series but, they don't have o2 holes.I was told that a cheap pair will crack under extreme heat due to the forced air.

I am not sure about MAC, I do like their stuff. I would go with BBK, that is what I use on my car and they are great!

Re: superchargers+headers

i gave up after all the talks with pro shops and peeps the conclusion is they wont last long without cracking as a dd and money versus time and gains isn't worth it basically not woth the hassle plus I was told near 500 rwhp on a stock 4.6 2v is pushing it already time to do some smarter hp gains that means cnc work

Re: superchargers+headers

I was thinking of putting hooker headers in my 98' GT

would that be a good idea?
