Stock specs

Does and one know the stock specs of a 96 mustang gt 4.6 v8????? Like gears and HP and what not

they were like 220hp back then i believe? and the gears look on your diff. case there will be a sticker that tells you. that is if they haven't been swapped out already.

I have a 96 Ford Mustang brochure in front of me, bought it off EBay 4.6L V-8 stock HP 215 @ 4400 rpm. Torque 285 @ 3500 rpm. Don't have info on the gear ratio. Dave

215 for 96 and 97. 98 got a bump to 225.

Gears are likely 2.73 if a 5spd but could be 3.08 or 3.27 stock

these guys got it for you. i dont really know much about the 96 and below non pi motors.

I never realized that the power was that low. I guess I will have to change my shift points.

It does not have stock gears I know that they were changed to 373

pop the rear off the ground and find out for sure though. mark the driveshaft with a marker...now spin the rear tire one complete time. count how many times the mark makes a full rotation on the DS...that'll tell you what gearing you have. so between the 3 1/2 and 4 rotations will be 3.73s basically. good to know for sure right

yea they are 373 gears and i finnaly got the cluthc in a week ago and drove it for a week now the car is stuck in reverse and will not go back in neutral it only goes in reverse and another high gear my friend tried to force it out of reverse when i went to the bathroom now when its in reverse it looks like it is in 5th what do i do
