I wouldn't see why you would lose hp...you may mess with how it sounds when you talk about cutting into the muffler, that may mess up how your stang sounds.

Do you mean cut the mufflers off? If so.. I wouldn't. I would just take off the cats or get an o/r pipe.

Re: Exhaust...?

Yea That's what I meant I wanted to cut the mufflers off for a louder sound and the reason I had to take my off road piping was it didn't let my car past emissions now I have a catted x-pipe now an it took the loudness out a little but it's definitely not as loud as it was wen I had my off road piping and ideas how I can get a little more rumble....?

Re: Exhaust...?

Do they do a visual inspection, and or a sniff test.... if not then just cut the catalatic converters off and get MIl eliminators. Maybe different mufflers will give you a different sound if you cannot pass those other tests. Headers Will also give you a different sound

What type of muffler do you have? I mean like chambered, bullet type, anything like that
