head questions help please

ive got a 98 gt and have been looking into a pi swap, but ive heard some people say if you port and polish the npi heads and cam them then you get more hp out of the npi heads then you can doing a port and polish and cams on the pi heads, so my question is would i get more from my npi heads getting machined and cammed or the pi heads doing the same?

If you did that to the PI heads you would still have more HP. The flow geometry and port design is better. The boost in power that you would get from a PI swap is the bump in compression, as the PI heads have a smaller combustion chamber. The PI route would be idea. I would suggest that you get a 93 octane tune since the compression ratio would be close to 11:1. I dont see alot of people suggesting that on here, but if you notice all our mustangs with higher stock CR need high octane. So just food for thought.

I thought the compression was 10:1 after the pi swap

I did say close to. The PI engine is 9.7:1 with 17cc dished pistons.

But in any case the PI heads will out flow the npi heads with the same machining done, and then the trick flows will out flow damn near anything else
