Re: Kenne bell time!

If you buy the Kit all you will need is time to put it in, the one im going with is already preassembled. You will have to intalled the intercooler but if you know what you are doing it would take about a weekend. Here is the kit im going with....

I'm doing the same thing. 4800 polished is best price I have so far...

It comes as shown with Chip, Injectors, Boost a pump, bypass valve and Auto Trans re-calibration.

Yeah, I'm doing same with 60lb injectors. My guy is going to try to have KB swap out the 36 for 60, same price.

Yeah, I got same shipping estimate to Charlotte, so 5020 atm. Trying to get that price down a little bit. Business is not good atm i think, so I'm hoping to get a better price in next 30 days or so...or if they are going to be cheap asses about it I just may jump to Vortech or Pro...

Re: Kenne bell time!

Aw forreal, are you buying it direct from KB? I just wonder how it is going to change the feel of my car with the CNC ported heads, stage 3 comp cams, 90 mm MAS. Also, I didnt know this but I saw it on a few youtube videos that KB doesnt recommend a open air filter in the engine compartment because of the heat. So I might go with the cool air kit they sell.

Re: Kenne bell time!

ohok thats not bad at all....I might see if they give a Military Discount or something. I just worry that I spend all of this money on the setup and it only puts me in the high 12's
with my engine mods already. Low 12's or high 11's is kinda where I want to be.

Southernstang is your bottom end forged? If it is the kb + your mods and a good tune you should be able to hit low 12's high 11's

With the consertive tune I put down 360 rwhp 341 ft lbs torque I had it at 380/360 but backed it off to be safe , I have autometer gauges a boost and fuel pressure gauge

thanks man, I think I will cuz the engine was build for a supercharger. They told me as it sits not it would produce much HP but when I threw the charger on it would me a different car.

well since you are going with a supercharger the next mods I would do is LT headers, bigger TB if not already done.

Just throwing this out there, have you considered going with a vortech blower? I have a vortech v1 at 8psi with LT headers, o/r prochamber, flowmaster cat back. I also have a Trickflow throttle body and plenum, Anderson power intake pipe, and a vortech after cooler with an upgraded front mount heat exchanger. I put down 390hp/400tq at the wheels. I then backed mine off to 370hp,380tq and that is with a SUPER conservative tune. I would beat any one of these KB cars and have beaten two KB GTs in my local area. I have also beaten a highly modified wrx sti that was pushing 22psi

I love the whine of a kenne bell tho. But what's the difference between the two like parts wise and cost and safe side for my bottom end thanks.

Both are the same on the bottom end of your motor. But the vortech will pull better on top end and will build boost as rpms increase. The KB will have instant boost but the numbers will be a little lower. If Rm360 will post up his dyno chart of his KB we can compare his and mine.

I will also post my dyno sheet when I get home , but I gotta ask ya Cody what are the graphs going to prove? The only thing they show is that your putting down better #'s but you know as well as I do it's all about our tunes are set up's and most importantly the dyno's . No dyno reads the same , the only way the graphs would mean anything if we both did a pull off the same dyno same day !

It will just give a better idea. I agree that each dyno is different but the numbers will give him an idea of what to expect. It will also allow us to compare the tq and hp curves to see where each setup excels

The boost is 8psi at 6000rpms. It made over 300tp from 3000 rpms up

Just FYI if you cams are to big you will have an issue with the bypass valve not opening because of the lower vacuum with the bigger cams. KB does sell a low vacuum bypass valve that will take care of that issue.

That is a pretty rare issue. And IF you have that issue you can just change the spring inside the valve
