IMO as long as it's synthetic, I've pumped a Lucas in with a 5 quart jug, always am at the exact full point in the dip stick.

I always put mobile 1 synthetic 5w30 cuz our average summer temps are 105-110. I use 6 quarts and a Mobil 1 filter or Bosch

The oil pans in the 4.6 is actually large enough to hold 7 quarts!.. Factory calls for only 5.5 but 6 or 7 is good!..

I listened to Adam Carollas Carcast Podcast. One episode was dedicated to oil a few weeks ago with a manufacturer of one of the big oil companys. Forgot which one, but check it out. Some interesting information regarding synthetics and all.

Re: Oil

I put 5 in my new motor which is out of a 2000 gt and it was at the full spot on the dipstick. Do 99-2000 motor come with a 5 quart pan?
