KB build-up thread..

Alrighty, so im starting my KB build-up thread now since I have nothing but time. So if anyone is interested in what im doing and the mods I have on my car now then feel free to ask. This is the kit im ordering soon as I get in the USA, and im going with the cool air kit as well since it recommend no open air underhood CAI kits.

This thread is gonna be good , I looking forward to seeing what kind of numbers you are gonna put down with that forged bottom end! You said you went with the KB cai what size meter you going with the 90mm? And how much boost are you planning on running? Also glad to hear you got home safely thanks for your service man!

I have a SCT 90mm on there already but im planning on just staying around 9-10 LBS of boost right now. Reason for it if you read on KB site if you go over 10 you have to have a boost a spark, which I want to research that more. At the same time I just want to see how the car is going to react to 9-10 LBs but the future plans are to stop at 14lbs. Thanks, im glad to be here it def is different being back though.

Its cool, i dont mind telling ya anything you want to know. I had the short block built with forged stuff, im not sure exactly how much it cost because i bought Trick flow heads and cams ported and etc all for 7 k I think thats a rought estimate might not be exact but its close to it. Its been so long and I cant remember what i spent on that car, crap i had a hard time remember how old I was lol. If you look on either MMR, there is another company I cant remember the name of but if you look in Mustang and Fast fords the company started with a D. I bought mine local but when I was told how much it was just for the short block with forged stuff it was compared to some online companys minus the shipping.

Talk to your tuner , he should be able to adjust the spark curve in your tune I'm running 10lbs without the boost a spark with no problems , I thought you had trick flow heads , what stage are them babies ported to? Also I'm not sure how much a tuner would be able to adjust the spark before a boost a spark is needed , but I know 10lbs no issues.

HEY, you read my mind lol...thats the research i was going to do before I went higher the 10. KB's website does state that if you run over 10 you would need one but I was going to take to my tuner and see if they can do it in the tune without getting a BAS. Um, honestly all I know is they are TF heads that are FULLY cnc ported, not sure on the stage.

BB&T are because its there engine and they have tuned it before and I was happy with the way they tuned it. I think John does the tuning up there, he knows his S*** cuz when I had a weird noise in the engine( thats another story I will have to tell you later) he know exactly what it was and he was right on the money without even taken a bolt off lol.

Well see what the deal wasssss, I was going to order it when I said it above but I ordered more stuff for the cobra lol. But, it took me 30 mins to get threw to those guys and finally when I did it was good to say, " I like to place a order for the Big Bore 2.1L kit for my GT." lol.....it was worth the wait though because he gave me 5% off the total for being in the service....so when he gave me the total I was like hell yea lol....

Nice

---------- Post added at 11:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:41 PM ----------

I was going kb just cause of the bling but I'm doing my car kinda my custom all around so I'm going to combine what are the best of the new edge all years.

In going about a thousand less with the v3 because of the money I think I can take that extra thousand and do some other engine mods plus put my own spin on the engine compartment.

Looking forward to pics.

Yup, I decided im not going with the 30 LBS injectors the kit comes with because im going 60's. Also, I didnt get the chip because im using my tuner to get a dyno tune. The kit comes with everything you need to run 9-10 Lbs.

Yea, I was going to go with the v-3 kits but with the mods I have already I would have to get a BAP and etc so I figured up the cost for the tuner kit and everything else I would need and it added up to what I will pay for the KB, which the kit comes with everything I need minus the injectors.

Far as the extra thousand, I actually saved that much but I dont have any other mods I can do to that car cuz it pretty much has everything lol. I could have used it on the cobra but I dont want to go to deep into that car because im not really going to race it but more for shows.

That would be some fun. I'm trying to talk my buddy here in town into pulling his motor out of his 84 Trans Am so we can build up a 350 to put in. He's not a Mustang dude, but we both love cars.

ha, that should be some fun I have really built up a single cam engine before. I wanted to get a 5.0 and build one up but I dont have anywhere else to put another car. Ha, its funny you bring up a trans am cuz I was on the way to get gas a hour or so ago and I stopped into sonic to get a drink and young kid came up to me wanted to race the GT cuz it was camming. I asked him if he was stock or modded and he said stock...I was like naw im good man I just put a gear in this car and I will have it broken in a few weeks.....which is when i will have the KB in lol.
