Ball joints

So I went to go pick up my sisters v6 mustang from the shop and they told me her ball joints were rusted and needed to be replaced. They told me $600. I looked on AM and I could buy steeda ball joints for $140, so $460 for labor? Please tell me that's not right lol.

+1 if you have the right tools to make the job simple it's not that bad to do yourself. Just getting to them is the hardest part because of every thing that's needed to move to get to them.

Re: Ball joints

That's insane. I can change out balljoints on my mustang in about 30 mins if I'm not teaching someone how to do it as I go. Get the part, get the internet, and do it yourself. To change balljoints all you need is simple hand tools, a regular socket set, a pickle fork(for removing steering knuckle), and a balljoint press. You can rent a ball joint press and pickle fork from Autozone for around $140 total for both, and then return them whenever and get a full refund of the money. Get your hands dirty and do it. :]

Unless they're made of gold. Then I could see it being kinda cool.
