Any suggestions on the easiest way to do it?

Don't go cheap on the tach you'll pay for it in a few months. I got a cheapass sunpro for my ranger. then the back light started flickering on and off then went out but it works if you smack it. I just ripped it out since I'm getting ready to sell the truck anyways.

Make the install as clean as possible. Some accessories de value a car if not installed correct.

You dont need one you have a rpm gauge in your cluster.
