03 gt hood scoop help!

Okay so I have a man that will fix the clear coat coming off my hood scoop. He said he would like for me to remove the scoop and bring it to him. What exactly is holding my scoop, screws or tape?? And would it just be best for him to fix my scoop while it is on the car?

GT scoops are held on with 4 bolts and tape...he could mask it all off and respray it there

It's really pretty easy to take off, or mine was anyways. Just need a rachet with a lengthener

Re: 03 gt hood scoop help!

Look under the hood and see if you have bolts with nuts, if not it's only being held on by tape. If only tape the best way to take it off is fishing line! Hold the line in each hand rapped around hand (gloves work best) then put it under one edge of the scoop and start working it gently back and forth until all the tape has been separated from the hood and then clean excess off. So even if you do have bolts the wire is still the way to go.

Well yeah it's easy to remove, just one thing they forgot to mention , you have to revoke the hood liner first, then you will see where to take it off.

Stupid autocorrect, remove the hood liner first!

It's held in by bolts, I've taken mine off a couple times so no worries about it flying off as long as you screw it back on
