Question Cobra Front Bumper Cover ?s

Mustang Front Bumper (03-04 Cobra) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

Don't have any experience, other than designing the part and mold for bumper covers in Catia.

With that cover, it looks like there are some more black plastic inserts required to finish up the fogs and air inlet.

I have some questions:

1. I don't see the plastic inserts/fog fascia with the cover, where would I find them and how much?

2. What/where/how much to get the round fogs installed and working(is there retrofitting required to mount and so-forth)?

3. Is there anything else "behind-the-scenes" I will need to complete the functionality, appearance and/or installation?

4. What is the functionality/purpose for the air inlets, do they have piping to the brakes or are there kits for different uses?

5. Is this a direct bolt up to my 99 GT(I see pop rivets with the kit, so makes me wonder)?

6. Can I have this painted off the car at the dealership then bring home and install myself?

7. Has anyone done this mod to a GT?

Thanks for any comments, thoughts or information.

Cody, which 95r hood is that you have?

And does it vibrate or is it rigid over bumps and such?

Just make sure you take the bumper out of the bag and inspect it closely. Check the edges and corners and also the area where the bumper brackets rivet to the cover. These bumpers are not bad but you need a quality body shop yo block and prime the cover to get rid of the pinholes in the factory primer

Yes the fogs and bezels need installation before putting on. I also would recommend putting the black lower balance on before you put the cover on also

I see the bezels for 25 bucks a each at American muscle.

And I see the chrome fog lights both left and right with bulbs on eBay for about 83 bucks.

Anyone have a good supplier or should I just pick something up off eBay?

Re: Cobra Front Bumper Cover ?s

1. I don't see the plastic inserts/fog fascia with the cover, where would I find them and how much?

tousleyford.parts.com and probably find them for you at a good price or ebay etc

2. What/where/how much to get the round fogs installed and working(is there retrofitting required to mount and so-forth)?

the plugs for the 03/04 cobras are a different size than GT/V6 fog lights FYI you need different pig tails or a wiring harness all together if you dont have wires ran.

3. Is there anything else "behind-the-scenes" I will need to complete the functionality, appearance and/or installation?

You need a running horse and you need the radiator cover panel that goes behind the horse that covers the headlights alignment panel. You also need the CORRECT one, there are non mach 1/cobra versions that dont cover the edge where the alignment panel meets the radiator cover and those that do not (base V6 some have these peices but they dont cover up over the radiator part and you can see a gap). The chin spoiler is not cheap, but go with the correct one ,the mach 1 does not look good on it.

4. What is the functionality/purpose for the air inlets, do they have piping to the brakes or are there kits for different uses?

one holds the fog the other hole is just mainly for looks

5. Is this a direct bolt up to my 99 GT(I see pop rivets with the kit, so makes me wonder)?

the OEM (non 03/04 cobra hood) wont clear the posts between the headlights on the new bumper, it will rub, modify as needed to pull the tabs back further etc.

6. Can I have this painted off the car at the dealership then bring home and install myself?

install is VERY easy but paint match can be difficult just FYI

7. Has anyone done this mod to a GT?

I did this on my 01 V6

Do these bezels look like they are grained properly like OEM?

The finish looks a little funky to me?

When you install the cobra bumper you need the specific cobra inner grill air guide. You can use the one from the Mach 1 grill delete but you will have about an 1 inch gap between the bumper and the air guide

Re: Cobra Front Bumper Cover ?s

Cool thanks, I need to get that asap because I'll be putting bumper on when paint is done next Wednesday.

I have this that came with Grille Delete, the replacement one in this photo:
http://images-ftp.americanmuscle.com...Img=16070_alt5

Guess I can't use that now?

Must not have searched the correct name on ebay, couldn't find it there.

Certifit has these but no picture:
Grille Mounting Panel (radiator opening panel)(03-04)Cobra Model

Nearest Certi that has it is 150 miles away.

Found this I think this is what I need, can anyone confirm?
http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/...e-Filler-Panel
Edit: Man it looks just like the exact part I already have from AM above, what do ya'll think?
