short throw shifter comparison, 2000 Mustang GT

I've had people suggest the Steeda Tri-ax and the PRO 5.0 short throw shifters...can someone offer a comparison between the two, or make suggestions on another brand you prefer? I'm about to purchase one and I wanted to hear some input. Thanks, as always!

The Steeda is a litte notchy in my opinion. The Pro 5.0 is short and smooth. Most guys really like the MGW as well. I would say the two best shifters out there are the MGW and the Pro 5.0.

Re: short throw shifter comparison, 2000 Mustang GT

I had a steeda in my 01, it made noise and was a bit notchy as well as the placment/reach was a bit off (this is a design issue with the 94-04 mustang but some shifters are better then others)

I now have an MGW shifter, the handle allows you to rotate it for a better reach and the quality is great. No noise and it is not notchy. (some notchy-ness comes from the transmission and cant be removed some comes from the shifter)

overall the MGW is the best shifter on the market IMO.

Re: short throw shifter comparison, 2000 Mustang GT

I bought the MGW shifter and installed it yesterday. The entire install took 40 mins. I LOVE the shifter. I haven't heard any complaints of guys with an MGW, but have heard of some with the other shifters selling them to get the MGW. It's pretty phenominal.

Re: short throw shifter comparison, 2000 Mustang GT

I took my Pro 5.0 off to put an MGW on. Both were good. I think the MGW is more comfortable and easier to reach. I'm glad I switched.

Re: short throw shifter comparison, 2000 Mustang GT

the only negative i have with the mgw is it is not quite as springy as some of the others, its not bad by any means just not as springy... not a big deal
