I don't see why you wouldn't pass. If you weld them on they are going to be there, and even if they looked and were upset for some reason you could just say your old cats went bad and you put new ones on. But do o/r have holee O2 sensors? That might screw you over.

See that scares me that they would screw me over so I might just get the offroad x pipe then when inspection comes and emmisions I'll just throw on my stock h pipe. I just hope that I don't get pulled over for sound then have them see I dont have cats?

Make sure you use anti-seize on the bolts so it's not a struggle when you go to do that once a year.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking I'm going to do, except I will probably get a off road H.

Yeah I'm debating on the offroad h or the x when I'm done. If I got the offroad h would it really make it louder cause I like the tone of an h. I just don't know if it would be a lot louder than it is right know with and oem h pipe?

It would be louder because you would have not restricting cats, but I'm not sure how much louder. I have a catted x pipe and it sounds awesome but I want to try a H and see if I like it.

I would like to see the difference too. I heard a non catted X and it was over load and raspy. I love how a off road X sounds with high flow cats.

Also X gives more horsepower

I think it's 4-5 it's not a huge amount. But I agree with you I would like to try a H-pipe for a couple months

Its true but i may be willing to sacrifice 5hp for a better sound... Unfortunatly it will be a while untill i can get a h pipe. I still need to get my new wheels on before i do that. I think i should just convince Runnwld to buy a offroad H then let me borrow it for a few months. We live in the same state anyways....

They probably all sound close to the same. Different brand will probably just be different quality, like rusting and stuff I would think.

I have BBK long tubes with o/r BBK X and Borla exhaust and it sounds mean. Nice rumble at idle but when you get on the gas it wakes up.

Re: X or H pipe?

Bassani SS Power X you can't go wrong. They are pricey but very worth it.

Do you have to weld them or do they come with clamps?

Haven't looked on the mufflers! But I did check the x pipe and couldn't find any signatures. Anybody have an o/r x without a company signifies on it and know the brand?!? Lol

Yeah my x pipe does not say anything on it either. But my mufflers and tips say Magnaflow.

Hey bro, i was the same way. Before i had the x pipe. But 6 months ago i decide to try something different. I went with Mac O/R Prochamber, this is the best, THE BEST sound in my opinion. I love the way My 04 gt sounds. Hope that helps, good luck!!!

For those of you wanting to know how much louder a O/R H-pipe is over the stock OEM H-pipe.. It's Pretty damn loud! I set off my neighbors car alarm every morning. The parts that affect LOUDNESS are your Catalytic Converters and Mufflers. X or H just change the tone, each are going to be just as loud. Mufflers also change the tone depending on if it's chambered or free flowing, or if it's a resonator. Also your whole intake system affects sound. Starting from the very front, the CAI. You'll notice it if you have an O/R mid pipe.

And FYI I read somewhere that high flow catalytic converters are illegal.. Changing your catalytic converter to anything other then OEM is illegal. But it's rarely enforced. I'm just happy I don't live in Cali. I love Texas!! Wooo!!! Lol
