Rims again...I'm so lost.

Ok..at my job I get a discount on Falken...tires and rims. I don't know what rims to drop on my Mustang..well..I know the rims, just not the size and bolt pattern. etc..

RT-7M Wheel - Falken Wheels

I want those...But what sizes?

I know one thing...I want 18x9 up front and 18x10 in the back. I don't see that there...I just googled and it says my bolt pattern is "114.3"

Should I get them? Also...I don't understand this "offset" thing.

Sorry guys..I've been into engines since I was a pup, but never really bought brand new rims.

Re: Rims again...I'm so lost.

18x9 = 275/35/18 (you can run a 265 but a 275 adds a touch more lip protection)

18x10 run a 295/35/18 or a 305 wide tire

every tire maker varies in width, its no standard honestly but thats what I have and I like

Do 275's up front put too much stress on the front suspension?

Re: Rims again...I'm so lost.

no, not that I know of> I have had them on my 97, 01, and 2003. They are factory on 03 cobras~ you may have a slight rub if you turn it at a full lock, the 03/04 cobras have a rack limiter to stop it from rubbing. Its not a big deal just FYI

Hmm never thought of running a 275, I run 265 and 305, I heard a 275 will affect something performance wise but I forgot what.

Re: Rims again...I'm so lost.

Alright...That's strange.

Well...I don't have any luck finding the rims on my car right now, so I don't know what the biggest tire they'll fit it.

The on in my avatar picture. Those are my rims. What's the biggest sized tires those will take.

Right now it has 245/45 up front and 235/55 in the back -___-

What the biggest I can go on those wheels?

Half and inch won't make you run if I go with a wide tire.

Yea I can't tell from the pic but if you have a 9 inch rim 275 is the widest you can go. 8 inch rim 255

I hope they're at least 9's

I don't think 275's all around will be too hot right? I mean...I want 275 up front and would like 285 in back...but should I settle for 275's all around?

I can't tell if they are 9 inch wide rims, you have to take off the rim and look in the inside. 275 all around is fine, if u want to go staggered then 275 in the back and 255 I'm the front is a good setup. But remember if you go staggered which means a wider tire in the rear you won't be able to rotate you're tires and be more cost towards u.

Well then...that's a good way to look at it with being staggered. I'll leave them all @ 275's all around then. Good call brother. Thank you!

What's your setup?

I'm going to check under my car now. I may just order the tires today so they're here by Friday. If I can see the #'s. lol

You're welcome, it's more cash effective if you run the same size all around, but the staggered look is better for grip n looks better. I run 18x9 265 continentals and 18x10 305 hoosier drag radials.

That looks badass...Love it.

I guess I'll just hit 275's

I'm on Eibach pro kit springs.

So what height should I do? 45's?

Oh ok you should be fine running a 45 tire then. So you're goin to run 275-45-18 right. I would rather opt for a 40 but it's the same. The 45 will fill the gap better anyways
