check engine bogging issues

I was driving down the road when I notice my check engine turns on. Nothing was acting up at the time. 5 more miles down the road, mustang started sputtering, around 45 mph it was shaking and sounded like it wanted to cut off. So I pulled over, turned it off and back on, made sure plugs were tight and pressed the gas. It revved fine but as it came down below 1000 rpms it sputtered and seemed like it would turn off but didn't...sry for the long explanation. But what do you think it could be? Similar thing happened to you? Thanks in advance

Check your codes and tell us what they are?

If you do not have a code reader? Take it to auto zone for a free check.

Re: check engine bogging issues

Well sounds like what happened to my 3.8L when the coil pack went bad. I would maybe assume you also have a bad coil, but who knows until you get the code read for sure.
