Re: Gt super charger help

From the pics it looks like your gonna need a different hood. Looks like this kit pushes the supercharger way up.

Don't waste your money on the kit or eaton. The amount of money you're going to spend on them you can spend a little more money and get a better supercharger kit. That's just my two cents.

+1 And it will be a complete kit rather than gathering all the parts together.

Re: Gt super charger help

Google supercharged for less than $1500. Someone did a write up and pieced everything together from different companies. He saved alot of money shopping around.

Re: Gt super charger help

I was going with the KB above but out of work for 2 months so had to pare down, atm this is what I'm going with unless I put together something as mentioned above:

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/VOR-4FL218-168L/

Edit: Checking on 3 diff mustang threads for charging under 1500, old posts so prices have changed but I'll check where it's at with today prices, have a feeling it will be more like 2000-2500. We'll see.

Thanks for the tip.

Yeah so here's the deal on those threads, they are all based on you finding a used head unit for under 600$. And you'll probably spend somewhere in neighborhood of 2-2.5k to have an outdated used sc. On top of that it would probably be a 6 month goose chase getting all the correct bolts and such. So you can get a satin Vortech V3 brand new for 2700$.

Re: Gt super charger help

with the vortech v3 do you have to tap into the oil line somewhere to oil it?! Im loving this kit right now but how much more work is it gonna be then a KB supercharger when those dont need any extra mods!

No oil tap. No after cooler if you do your own cooler and plumb work and you can make 200 off the kit you buy.

Added benefit with above cfg....no battery relocation to trunk or fenderwell.

...and it'll run cooler.
